Three White Horses

Are you having one of those weeks where it seems the saying “opinions are like…..” applies virtually everywhere?  Well, we can add whatever colorful expletive you care to add to the finish the phrase and it still comes down to an opinion.  The heart of the matter is that we do control our destiny, our fate- but that is only partially true.  We are born into this life and eventually we all pass away from this physical body.  So, in the meantime,  Are you tired of being tired?  Are you fed up with where you are?  Do you want to improve the quality of what you care for and not listen to any more excuses?

Yes Mr. Bird, I am also “done waiting.”

The Cheese Stands Alone

What brings us closer to our own dream?  Religion? Great Sex? A really great piece of chocolate?  I have friends that would respond that there is no difference between any of the above.  All joking aside, some would say that life is a lot of work and hopefully filled with some “good luck.”  In the BaZi Suan Ming there are many opportunities to help your self during times of stress, crisis and out right loneliness. How do you know you are in your dream? What makes you think  things may not change- for better or worse?  We live in a world where (it turns out) Area 51 exists, people can “hack” into your car while you are driving, a low fat diet early in childhood will make you fat later in life and John Lennon may come back from the dead.

Who’s The Boss?

It’s that time of the week. You drive up to work and you find the construction project for the new supermarket store next door has somehow managed to ‘add a little of their own’ construction creativity- by ripping the phone line, power line, siding and gutters that are attached to the very office space you ply your trade, day in and day out.

“Thank you Mr. PGE Man!”

Since the construction project next door was originally to begin in 2005, I cannot blame the guys for wanting to be in a hurry.  However, when you eventually are on a first name basis with the foreman of the project, the Feng Shui making for this Ju Ju Man can’t be good…

But I digress.  Let’s face it. The salt mine can truly be grueling. I think there is a need to change the mode of thinking in today’s workplace world. Here are Five Ways to Help Your Toxic Workplace using the BaZi Suan Ming.

The Unbearable Lightness of Pain

I decided to turn my life around in order to understand a deeper sense of human nature and our interaction with nature itself.  My training as a “real” medicine man, a Curandero, and as a traditional healer in my family’s lineage only provides a door way to explore this subject matter.

Rock The Cat Box

These days it’s tough being a recovering Catholic.  Guilt is around every corner.  It’s under every mess with the new kitten you have adopted into your home.  This kitten, (in this case, the cat’s name is Zaz” or Zazzy- [Zaz is one of the Apache words for ‘snow‘], decides to “rebel” for obvious reasons:  [1] want of food; [2] the company of other pets (especially dogs); and [3]  the “other” older cat that lives in the house.

Alternative Medicine and Healing

The true revolution in “Alternative Medicine” is that emotions matter.  Healing is the natural response from the body that says “I can.”  This may seem self evident for many of us, in fact it strikes me as “common sense;” -but as the saying goes, “if it’s so common why are not more people doing it?”
