The Path to Healing

Through the last several weeks I have been doing some soul searching about life and thinking of my own mortality.  The passing of Dr. Pert gave me time for some reflection- (albiet abrupt reflection) – however it was also a renewed vigor on what it means to live.  The past holds many gifts- some negative, some positive and some in between. While living in the moment is the thing to do, knowing when those singular moments of clarity is upon us is something else.  Why settle for silver when you can attain gold?

Three White Horses

Are you having one of those weeks where it seems the saying “opinions are like…..” applies virtually everywhere?  Well, we can add whatever colorful expletive you care to add to the finish the phrase and it still comes down to an opinion.  The heart of the matter is that we do control our destiny, our fate- but that is only partially true.  We are born into this life and eventually we all pass away from this physical body.  So, in the meantime,  Are you tired of being tired?  Are you fed up with where you are?  Do you want to improve the quality of what you care for and not listen to any more excuses?

Brushing My Dog’s Teeth

My BaZi chart never revealed to me the fact that, one day, I would be instructed, (by my dog’s veterinarian) to brush the teeth of my pets, (2 dogs and 2 cats.)  Don’t get me wrong.  I like animals. I do not think pets are four-legged chores. In fact, my children have even named the chickens we have in the backyard. (To clarify I do live in a northern-tier city known as Portlandia.)  But brushing their teeth?  (The pets not the children.)

BaZi Acupuncture

In the last several years I began a research project that involves rethinking some fundamental concepts of the evaluation and application of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.  My focus has not been trying to ‘downgrade’ or judge the way people do acupuncture in the United States.  My goal is not to limit acupuncture to a form of “physical medicine.”  Rather, my focus has been to develop a set of practical, clinically tested acupuncture protocols in the treatment of pain.

Love and The Seven Killings

I have been fortunate to hear and share the stories of those around me.  These stories affect our lives everyday.  This past week has been a reminder that people live with death everyday.  The stories of this past week that were shared with me about death vary in nature and circumstance.
