A funny thing happened to me last week. I threw out my back. For those of you who know me, it is almost laughable that this traditional medicine man of Mexican-Apache descent from South Texas, who is a martial arts expert, has a sudden onset of back pain for no apparent reason. Initially the pain “on a one to ten scale” was a 12. There was no heavy lifting involved. There was no yard work or mixed martial arts cage fighting involved. There were no other activities that involved my back that would lead me to conclude of one factor that precipitated a back injury. All I could think of at first was “why me?” and “why now?” As I start this road to recovery, it reminds me once again that I am only human. Which is too bad…unfortunately.
The emperor is not as forgiving…yes yes I know this.
Have you ever had pain you seem to revisit ever so often? Have you ever had low back pain? Do you want to know some helpful hints on your road to recovery? If so, Please read on…
Through the last several weeks I have been doing some soul searching about life and thinking of my own mortality. The passing of Dr. Pert gave me time for some reflection- (albiet abrupt reflection) – however it was also a renewed vigor on what it means to live. The past holds many gifts- some negative, some positive and some in between. While living in the moment is the thing to do, knowing when those singular moments of clarity is upon us is something else. Why settle for silver when you can attain gold?
Wait..you are telling me this is possible?
The path to healing begins with you and your BaZi. If you feel stuck, have decisions you need to make or really just want to generally Open the Door to Your Destiny, please read on.
When you look for any kind of resolution to a problem we attempt to do one of three things- (or for the creative ones in all of us, a combination of the following: shoot it eat it attempt a 9 month to 15 yearrelationship of codependency with this particular person, thought pattern or situation.
Yeah, can I get that with two sugars?
Have you ever felt torn by a decision you had to make? Between a rock and a hard place? Or just looking for a rock to put yourself under? Have you ever been afraid or at the very least wary of a decision to make? Open Your Door to Your Destiny. Here is how you can do this.
Are you having one of those weeks where it seems the saying “opinions are like…..” applies virtually everywhere? Well, we can add whatever colorful expletive you care to add to the finish the phrase and it still comes down to an opinion. The heart of the matter is that we do control our destiny, our fate- but that is only partially true. We are born into this life and eventually we all pass away from this physical body. So, in the meantime, Are you tired of being tired? Are you fed up with where you are? Do you want to improve the quality of what you care for and not listen to any more excuses?
What brings us closer to our own dream? Religion? Great Sex? A really great piece of chocolate? I have friends that would respond that there is no difference between any of the above. All joking aside, some would say that life is a lot of work and hopefully filled with some “good luck.” In the BaZi Suan Ming there are many opportunities to help your self during times of stress, crisis and out right loneliness. How do you know you are in your dream? What makes you think things may not change- for better or worse? We live in a world where (it turns out) Area 51 exists, people can “hack” into your car while you are driving, a low fat diet early in childhood will make you fat later in life and John Lennon may come back from the dead.
Really? Damn and all those back taxes.
In order to get the most use out of your BaZi chart there are certain things to understand how a 5,000 year old algorithm can change your life. Let us start with “BaZi 101 Basics.”
Have you ever had one of those days where everything seemed to come crashing down over your ears? I certainly have had my share of these moments. My fall back position used to always reason in the end that, “I will try harder. I will work harder. I will pay more attention.” Finally, after years of neglect- I decided to take the help and advice from my grandmother, my parents, my uncles and aunts and my tribal elders. In addition, I have actually chosen to listen to the very suggestions and advice I pass onto to my family, friends, patients, to the not-so-nice people and complete strangers alike. Yet, on a day like today, I still relate to Boxer, the Horse in the epic novel, Animal Farm.
